Contact FatCat Loans South Africa

🚨 Fraud & Impersonation Warning

We are aware that scammers may impersonate loan brands and send fake loan approvals, contracts, WhatsApp messages, emails or payment requests.

Important:

  • FatCat Loans does not issue loans directly
  • FatCat Loans does not guarantee loan approval
  • FatCat Loans does not ask for upfront payments
  • FatCat Loans does not ask you to pay “release fees”, “admin fees”, “insurance fees”, vouchers, crypto or deposits before receiving a loan
  • Our loan-matching service is free for consumers to use

If someone claims to represent FatCat Loans and asks you to send money, share sensitive information outside a secure application, or accept a “guaranteed” loan offer, treat it as suspicious.

Do not send money. Do not click suspicious links. Keep screenshots, phone numbers, email addresses and bank details used by the scammer, and report the issue to us through the contact form below.

You can also visit our Fraud Alert page for more information.

Support, Complaints, Privacy Requests and General Enquiries

If you need help with an application, have a question about how our loan-matching service works, want to report a problem, or need to raise a complaint, you can contact the FatCat Loans South Africa team using the information below.

FatCat Loans is not a lender. We are a loan-matching and referral platform. We help connect South African consumers with independent lenders, brokers and financial service partners. We do not issue loans directly, make credit decisions, set interest rates, control repayment terms, or manage existing loan accounts.

All credit decisions, affordability checks, repayment terms, fees and interest rates are determined by the relevant credit provider. South African credit providers must operate within the requirements of the National Credit Act 34 of 2005, including responsible lending and affordability assessment requirements.

Business Hours

Our support team is available during standard South African business hours:

Monday to Friday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (SAST)
Weekends & Public Holidays: Limited support

Messages received outside business hours will usually be reviewed on the next business day.

You can submit an online loan application at any time — 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Lender response times, approval times and payout times may vary depending on the lender, your bank, verification requirements, weekends and public holidays.

What We Can Help With

Our team can assist you with:

  • Questions about how FatCat Loans works
  • Help understanding the application process
  • Clarification on what happens after you apply
  • Reporting website or application issues
  • Raising concerns about a lender or partner you were matched with
  • Reporting suspected fraud, phishing or impersonation
  • General borrowing guidance that is educational and non-advisory
  • POPIA-related privacy requests, including access, correction or deletion requests where applicable

What We Cannot Control

Because FatCat Loans is not a lender or credit provider, we do not control:

  • Final loan approval or decline decisions
  • Loan amounts offered by lenders
  • Interest rates, fees or repayment terms
  • Affordability assessment outcomes
  • Credit bureau checks conducted by lenders
  • Debit order dates, repayment schedules or account servicing
  • Collections, arrears management or lender-specific policies

If your issue relates to an existing loan agreement, repayment, debit order, settlement amount, arrears, collections or a credit bureau listing, please contact the lender directly first. You can still notify us if you believe a lender or third party has acted improperly.

Response Times

We aim to respond within the following timeframes:

  • General enquiries: within 1–2 business days
  • Application support: within 1–2 business days
  • Fraud or impersonation reports: reviewed as a priority during business hours
  • Complaints: acknowledged within 2 business days
  • Complex issues: typically reviewed within 5–10 business days, depending on the information required
  • POPIA privacy requests: handled within a reasonable period in line with applicable South African law

If we need more information to investigate your enquiry, we may ask you to provide supporting details before we can give a full response.

Contacting Us About a Complaint

When submitting a complaint, please include:

  • Your full name and contact details
  • The date of the issue
  • The lender, broker or partner involved, if applicable
  • A clear description of what happened
  • Any relevant screenshots, documents, emails or SMS messages
  • Your preferred outcome

If your complaint relates to a lender’s credit decision, loan agreement, repayment, fees, interest, collections or credit bureau listing, the lender will usually need to handle the complaint directly. If you cannot resolve the matter with the lender, you may consider escalating the issue to the relevant South African dispute-resolution body, such as the National Credit Regulator, the National Consumer Tribunal or the National Financial Ombud Scheme South Africa, depending on the nature of the complaint.

  • The email address or phone number used in your application
