Terms of Use for Our South African Loan-Matching Service

Last reviewed: 24 April 2026

Welcome to FatCatLoans.co.za. These Terms & Conditions explain how you may use our website and loan-matching service. Please read them carefully before submitting an application or using our services.

By accessing this website, submitting your details, or using our loan-matching service, you agree to these Terms & Conditions, our Privacy Policy, and any other notices displayed on this website. If you do not agree, please do not use this website.

1. Who We Are

FatCatLoans.co.za is operated by Triple Eight Media (Pty) Ltd. FatCat Loans is a loan-matching and referral platform. We help South African consumers connect with independent lenders, brokers and financial service partners who may be able to offer loan products.

FatCat Loans is not a lender, credit provider, bank, credit bureau, financial advisor, debt counsellor or law firm. We do not provide loans directly, make credit decisions, approve applications, set interest rates, determine repayment terms or provide personalised financial advice.

2. Our Service

When you submit an application or enquiry through this website, we may use the information you provide to match you with one or more third-party lenders, brokers or financial service partners. These partners may contact you directly to discuss your application, verify your information, assess eligibility or provide a potential loan offer.

Submission of an application through FatCatLoans.co.za does not guarantee that you will be approved for credit or receive a loan offer. Any approval, decline, loan amount, interest rate, fees, repayment period or payout time is determined solely by the relevant lender or credit provider.

3. No Cost to Use FatCat Loans

FatCat Loans does not charge consumers a fee to use this website or submit a loan enquiry. We may receive a referral commission from a lender, broker or partner if you proceed with a product or service after being matched through our platform.

This referral commission does not guarantee approval and should not increase the cost of your loan. You should always review the lender’s full quotation, pre-agreement statement, fees, interest rate, repayment terms and total cost of credit before accepting any offer.

4. South African Credit Regulation

Consumer credit in South Africa is regulated under the National Credit Act 34 of 2005. Credit providers are required to follow responsible lending practices, provide transparent cost information, and conduct affordability assessments where required by law.

FatCat Loans aims to work with lenders and partners who operate within the South African credit regulatory framework, including lenders registered with the National Credit Regulator (NCR) where registration is required.

Before accepting any loan, you should confirm the lender’s identity, NCR registration status where applicable, total repayment amount, monthly instalments, interest rate, fees, charges and the consequences of late or missed payments.

5. Eligibility and Application Information

To use our service, you must be at least 18 years old, reside in South Africa, and provide accurate, complete and truthful information. You must not submit an application using another person’s details or provide false, misleading or fraudulent information.

By submitting an application, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you are authorised to submit it. Incorrect or incomplete information may result in delays, declined applications, failed verification checks or cancellation of a potential offer.

6. Credit Checks and Affordability Assessments

Lenders and partners may conduct identity checks, fraud checks, credit bureau checks, employment checks, income verification and affordability assessments before deciding whether to offer credit. These checks are conducted by the lender, broker or relevant partner, not by FatCat Loans.

By submitting your details, you authorise FatCat Loans to share your application with selected partners, and you understand that those partners may perform checks necessary to assess your application in accordance with applicable South African law.

7. Loan Offers and Cost Information

Any loan examples, repayment examples, interest ranges, approval times or payout times shown on this website are for general information only. They do not constitute a binding offer, financial advice, credit approval or a guarantee that you will receive the same terms.

The final cost of credit depends on the lender’s assessment, your personal financial circumstances, the loan amount, repayment period, interest rate, fees and any other charges disclosed by the lender.

You should never accept a loan unless you understand:

  • The total amount you will repay
  • The interest rate and all fees
  • Your monthly instalment amount
  • The repayment date or repayment schedule
  • What happens if you miss or delay a payment
  • Your rights and obligations under the credit agreement

8. No Financial Advice

The information on FatCatLoans.co.za is provided for general educational and comparison purposes only. It does not constitute financial, legal, tax, debt counselling or credit advice.

You are responsible for deciding whether a loan is suitable for your needs and whether you can afford the repayments. If you are unsure, consider speaking to a qualified financial advisor, debt counsellor or legal professional before entering into a credit agreement.

9. Your Responsibilities as a Borrower

Borrowing money is a serious financial commitment. You should only apply for credit if you can afford the repayments and understand the risks.

You agree that you will:

  • Provide accurate and current application information
  • Read all lender documents before accepting an offer
  • Check the lender’s fees, interest rate and repayment terms
  • Ask questions if anything is unclear
  • Make repayments on time if you enter into a credit agreement
  • Contact the lender immediately if you experience repayment difficulty

10. Late or Missed Payments

Late, missed or partial repayments may result in additional fees, interest, collection activity, legal action and negative information being reported to credit bureaus. This may affect your credit profile and your ability to access credit in future.

FatCat Loans is not responsible for repayment arrangements, collections, disputes, arrears, credit bureau listings or enforcement action relating to a loan agreement you enter into with a third-party lender.

11. No Upfront Fees and Fraud Warning

FatCat Loans will never ask you to pay an upfront fee to submit an application, secure approval, release funds or improve your chances of getting a loan.

Be cautious of anyone claiming to represent FatCat Loans who asks for payment before you receive a loan. This may be fraud. If you are contacted by someone suspicious, do not pay them and report the incident immediately through our website or the appropriate authorities.

12. Partner and Third-Party Services

We may refer you to third-party lenders, brokers, service providers or websites. These third parties are independent from FatCat Loans and are responsible for their own products, services, pricing, approvals, compliance obligations, privacy practices and customer communications.

FatCat Loans is not responsible for any agreement you enter into with a third-party lender or partner. You should read that third party’s terms, privacy policy, pre-agreement statement, quotation and credit agreement before proceeding.

13. Communication Consent

By submitting your details through this website, you agree that FatCat Loans and selected partners may contact you about your enquiry or application using channels such as telephone, SMS, email, WhatsApp or other electronic communication methods.

Service-related communications may be necessary to process your enquiry or application. Marketing communications will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable South African law, including POPIA. You may opt out of marketing communications where legally permitted.

14. Personal Information and Privacy

We process personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable South African privacy laws, including the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

By using our service, you consent to the collection, processing and sharing of your personal information where reasonably necessary to provide loan-matching services, assess eligibility, prevent fraud, communicate with you, comply with legal obligations and improve our services.

21. Consumer Rights and Complaints

If your complaint relates to a loan application, approval decision, repayment, debit order, credit agreement, fees, interest, collections or credit bureau listing, you should first contact the relevant lender or credit provider directly.

If you are unable to resolve a credit-related complaint with the lender, you may consider contacting the relevant South African dispute-resolution body, such as the National Credit Regulator, the National Consumer Tribunal, the National Financial Ombud Scheme South Africa, or another body with jurisdiction over the matter.
